      I believe Chris and I first met when I was considering running for this office. It was before he had editorial responsibilities and he was free to share his opinions with me (not that it ever stopped him). Chris was a sports writer, and he liked a good competition and I think everyone likes to root for the underdog, and he found one in me.

Unfortunately, only 3 out of every 100 people in America donate blood. The American Red Cross makes maintaining a safe and stable blood supply their mission.
